Souvenirs

Feel free to take home any natural souvenirs that you might find on the ground, in the trees, around the ponds, etc. There could be snakeskins, fossils, bones, seed pods – oh and pecans! Those that are still on the trees should be good to eat; the ones that fell earlier in the season might not be any good. Pro Kid Tip: Take a handful home, paint them black and take to school for show-n-tell. Make up a story about how they turned black during the eclipse!  And kids, if you see any black kitties with two white stripes down their back – those would be skunks. If they (or any other wildlife) chase after you, they probably have rabies – run the other way!

Oh – and kids – if you are so inclined, you can hunt for the Lucky Skull! If you find it, bring it to one of your hosts. You get to keep the skull, plus another bonus wildlife prize or two for your collection (as long as Mom or Dad says it OK).
